A HAPPY PRE-CHRISTMAS WEEKEND!

@1brokegirl // @lilsunpacker

our last weekend before christmas! and a quick note of thanks to everyone who's been sharing their trees with me this year through instagram. i hope you know what it's meant to me. it's been so lovely and moving to see all your trees! and at night when i'd browse through the hashtags, i'd often get a little lump in my throat. i feel so honored to have been included in all your lives this christmas season. thank you so much for sharing! and thank you for reading, and thank you for commenting... and for emailing and leaving sweet notes to me on twitter... sometimes i get all confused about blogging. honestly, what am i doing. but i think, in the end, the most important thing is that we're making connections and sharing what makes each of our lives special. and building each other up. i hope so, anyway.  (woah, way to derail from christmas trees natalie?)

as always, a few on the front, a ton after the jump.

a few babble posts:

and i LOVE the discussion this sheInside post sparked.

meanwhile, at the great beauty experiment:

  1. I saw the post about the snowflakes for Sandy Hook the other day. I want to make so so so so so so many of them, one for EVERY child, EVERY teacher, EVERY parent. The Christmas trees are so lovely. This year I have a lovely little "Charlie Brown" tree, but it is slowly wilting away... :(

  2. While reading this post, I happened to be listening to the Mormon Tabernacle Choir's stirring rendition of "Silent Night" (which brings tears to my eyes, like, ALWAYS), so, you know, getting sniffly up in here. Double-whammy of sniffles from your post AND the music! Heh. Wishing you, Brandon and Huck a blessed, safe and joyful Christmas!

    1. OOH!

      Forgot to add (::slaps forehead::) that one of my friends is coming over tonight and we're gonna make eggnog (while listening and singing along to Christmas carols, DUH), eat yummy food and then proceed to watch Home Alone 2: Lost in New York ('cause, apparently, we're ten) and While You Were Sleeping.

      Nothing quite like Christmas-themed movies!

  9. I'm glad you reposted my blurb about Snowflakes for Sandy Hook (@wilder_ryland), I figured if it got to you, lots and lots of people would see it : ) I think a lot of people feel like they need to do something but don't have a clue what. I've always loved how genuine you come across in your writing and hope you keep it up! Merry Christmas!

  16. Thank you for the entertaining Christmas tree photos! The flamingo wreath made me laugh out loud. I wanted to see the aftermath when the gray kitty leaped for the top of the tree, and I love looking at the sweet babies staring at the twinkling lights.

    Happy New Year!
