SATURDAY . . . AND SUNDAY

happy weekend! and happy st patrick's day.

we managed to avoid just about everything green this weekend. on saturday morning we made it down to the village for a fun (and fa-reezing) shoot with our friends at hunter boots, followed by an attempt at warming-up with some insanely decent waffles at the waverly . . .  i baked me up a little lemon blueberry cake that surprisingly turned out pretty good, despite my best efforts at ruining it (i am channeling my inner anne shirley these days and botching cakes left and right, like a boss) . . . and on sunday we went to church, had the home teachers over, heated up a super random assortment of frozen food for dinner (time to order the groceries!), then took ourselves on a bundled up family walk to the park to get the wiggles out of our toddler (i wore three pairs of pants, seriously. i was still freezing).

here then are a few odds and ends from our cold, cold weekend.
(i only managed to get brandon in ONE shot. you win this time, ginger!)

And also, freaking YES for someone else who understands the lameness of St. Patrick's day. I was beginning to think I was the only one!

  23. Sooo...you order groceries? how does that work? Do they actually deliver them to your home???

I'm pretty sure nothing like that is offered to any one under 60 in rural Kentucky, but it sounds AWESOME!

  41. I love the backdrop of your photos! The big city is amazing.
Is that really what a good waffle is? Eggs and bacon and such? I've tried that once but didn't enjoy it. Waffles to me have always been dessert food and now cold winter days at the train station food served in a fold of thick waxed paper so your hands don't get sticky and burnt. They come hot and sugary!
There's nothing better than the aroma of waffles in the winter, snowy air!

  42. It was so cold Sunday, I hated it!!! And now snow? What the h, new york! Just 3 more days til spring...
