Letters To My Husband

Dear Holbsy Holbserton,

You come home tomorrow! Aren't you so glad?

How fancy was your dinner with the Pedersens tonight, on a scale from 1-10? Are you a little sad that you'll miss the wedding in Denmark? Not as sad as you are without me? That's what I thought.

Let me tell you, things have been pretty exciting around here. I don't know if you'll be able to handle it when you get home. Here, I will tell you all of the exciting things I was up to today.

Well. First I slept in till ten.

Then I bought the dogs some breath mints at Pets Are People Too. Did you know such a thing existed? Dog breath mints?

Uhhh, do you feel like brushing the dogs' teeth when you get home?

I would do it but I'm too pregnant.

Then I bought some fruit at the Safeway. You know.

Then I laid on the couch. Buying fruit is really tiring.

Isn't this thrilling?

I met Kendall and Ollie and Sawyer downtown and they bought me dinner at Nectar. Are you jealous? I had the blue cheese burger. It was really good. And then I made them all split a lemon tart with me because, well, and let me just tell you, they make their whipped cream with brown sugar. They let me eat all the whipped cream and I don't even regret it.

Then on the radio a reporter mentioned the nice weather we've been having (it's been grand!) and he called snow a "mantle of celestial confetti."

How much do you love that, on a scale from 1-10?

(Almost as much as you love me?)

xoxo
Your Baby Mama

  3. A "mantle of celestial confetti" totally rocks. It almost makes snow doable. Almost. I do miss Safeway. Loved it when we lived in the Bay Area. I'll trade you the whipped topping on my lemon tart for some fresh fruit from Safeway!

  4. I wonder how long he pondered before he came up with the celestial confetti comment. I think he was awake 'til at least 1am nutting it out.

  8. Ohhhh, I love that you're already using the "I'm too pregnant" thing to keep unpleasant duties at bay! You're doing everything right so far, darlin! :)

I'm gonna have to write down "mantle of celestial confetti" so I don't weep and hate whenever it snows. (We're supposed to get some more of that "confetti" tomorrow, I do believe, over on my side of the state...)

  16. I didn't know I was supposed to be brushing our dogs teeth? Why has our vet never told me? Huh?

We're supposed to be getting "mantle of celestial confetti" on Saturday, and I don't think it's very fun at all. Afterall Saturday is OFFICIALLY Spring.

*sigh* I am happy though that you are simply too pregnant to do things.

  17. Cinderella beat me to the correction. If you head up to Bayview you can see the submarines in the early mornin' hours. And yes I mean real Navy subs. I'd say take a dip, but it is quite cold year round...

  18. I know there's a product out there for cats (maybe just use extra for dogs??) that's minty water. You stick it in their water dish along with their regular old plain water and it makes their breath better (and the cats can't tell it's in there...but maybe dogs can because they're smarter?). I'm very glad to hear that breath mints for dog exist! How have we been surviving without such an invention?

  19. I know I'm a day late with this but here it is anyway- CONGRATULATIONS!! Finally, onsies-twosies for your OWN baby! : D

Definitely, milk the whole "I'm too pregnant thing" as much as possible. But be careful not to overdue it. They do get suspicious if you use it too much...

Also, enjoy sleeping in until 11 while it lasts- your days are numbered, girlie! : )
