BUSTER'S FAVORITES

some of buster's favorite shots this week, yo.

this weekend and into the next week i get to play host to a whole lot of friends who are coming into the city, i'm really excited. lots of shake shack in my future! i'm also fighting off the world's angriest allergies (okay maybe it's a cold but if i don't acknowledge it i'm pretty sure it'll fizzle out). but brandon is home early tonight, and i'm pretty sure i'm about to eat a giant gyro from my favorite street cart for dinner, so quit yer whining, steve.

incidentally and having nothing to with anything really, but how do you pronounce "whinge?"
winj? wing?
is it heavy on the h like when my grandma says "whhhere" ?????

anyway.

    Winj. Win-jing. Win-ger.

That's how we say it in the UK anyway!! It's a great word!

  4. I loved your Disney post and can't wait for me. Also I bought colored skinny jeans at Forever in February and haven't been able to find any since. What was the hold up? Did they not think they were cool? Was I shopping at the wrong Forever?

  5. i ALWAYS refuse to acknowledge a cold or something.. because i truly DO believe it will go away if i ignore it.. like someone at my door who i don't like (why are you knocking on my door, person i don't like?)

hope you guys have a merry weekend!

  9. This is a news item that you might not want to read if you'd like to drink mountain dew in peace in the future. Although.. I know about it and still drink it, and I'm not exactly sure how I feel about that.

Once I heard on Wait Wait Don't Tell Me, a story about a man who tried to sue mountain dew because he found a mouse in his soda. Well, mountain dew maintained that he could not possibly have found a mouse in his soda. The reason? Even if a mouse had been in there, the soda would have completely dissolved it in the amount of time between packaging and getting to a shelf to be sold.

  11. Can we please become friends so my husband will agree to take a trip to NYC? He has this irrational fear of paying for lodging. *sigh*

  15. Oh Nat, I kept wet washcloths and arrowroot cookies in the freezer way back when my boy was angrily teething. You should also know that my dad used Coke to take rust off corroded bolts and car parts. He said it worked better for that than anything else, including Mountain Dew.

The fashion stuff was fun, but I notice that those are the times you are most critical of yourself. If you don't mind the advice, please love the dowdy parts too and turn away from those mean people who called you a skinny fat girl. The nerve of them. You are lovely and you should enjoy all of that as it is before you get old and lose your luster. You find it wasn't that important to be perfect anyway.

  16. "Winge" should be pronounced like "binge" as in binge-shopping (my favourite). ;) x

  19. The fashion posts were really cute. Way to go! I have to say though ... while I totally respect your church's advice to avoid coffee, I'd take black coffee over diet/regular sodas any day. I'm biased because I love coffee but really, I think it has to be better for you than that awful soda. I don't have a sweet tooth though, so maybe I'm ignorant to the charm.

I love your husband's shoe and sock combo - my boyfriend has been insisting on wearing skater trainers and black socks in his downtime for longer than I can remember despite his grand old age (juuuust about young enough to get away with it, old enough to know better, ha!), I sometimes feel as if I am fraternizing with a 13-year old who has lost his BMX bike, ha ha ha.

Joining the leagues of questions: where do you get your baseball tees? I live in the UK but for a good baseball tee I would give my left leg (or just a shipping fee, preferably)...
