WEEKENDS IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD

with brandon smack in the middle of his busy season at work, it can sometimes feel like our weekends  together become crazy with expectations. our one day as a family!

but somehow this weekend fell together perfectly, without anybody even planning a dang thing. there were sugarplums at the farmer's market, pizzas from the pizza truck, bikes with sunflowers in their baskets, impulse c-line custards for dessert, a playground for huck to prowl around in (complete with crazy awesome western murals), and a sunday birthday picnic on the river with friends. brandon even managed to get his home teaching in. what a hero.

hope your weekend was lovely.

  2. Love your blog but my debt-free living is not liking all the spending I've been doing at F21, Madewell and now Etsy recently, thanks to you. :) :) I would hire you immediately as a fashion/positivity consultant if I had the dough. Thanks for giving me a breath of fresh, good air and reminding me how lovely my city -- NYC -- is!

Ha ha. Our mothers would have gotten along just fine. Only my mom was always telling me to show less restraint. :D

  17. Love this post. My hubs and I have been feeling that weekend pressure lately too. B/w his job and mine, finding free weekends is hard! He and I were long distance as well--for all but 3 months of our pre-wedding relationship actually!--and we used to just live for weekends!!

  19. we seem to be putting urselves under pressure at the moment to make our weekends count as well, which can be annoying as it can lead to disappointment. but when the days justs falls into place, there is nothing better.

  22. I'm trying to exercise restraint (not drool) over those delish pizzas- off a truck? Only in NYC.
Glad your weekend was productive- almost to the next one already!
