LATE WINTER CANDY MAKING

the other night i got a little silly with some of our heart-shaped marshmallows and a few bags of candy melts.

i almost never get crafty ideas and it's even rarer that i actually execute those ideas, so when i thought this one up and then actually went through with it it felt like a real documentable moment in my life, is what.

and THEN i was thinking, how fun would it be to host a little alice in wonderland-style tea party with these? who's coming over? mostly all i really have is smooth move tea though, is that okay?

the finished product are currently living in my valentine twilight candy heart tin brandon gave me, hidden away in the treat cupboard where huck can't see them and ask for them for every meal. i should probably just throw them all away, except edward cullen keeps staring at me from the lid just-so, and i sort of like it.

byyyyy the wayyyyyy,  in case you're out of marhsmallows but NOT out of chocolate. THIS.

babble!

and in the great beauty experiment:
and this one was fun to write: CAN A PERSON LEARN TO BE PHOTOGENIC?

and now, unrelated to anything at all:
the trailer for the new documentary FINDING VIVIAN MAIER
this film looks incredible.

  8. Success! Those are adorable...I get all motivated and crafty and then frustrated at my craft-less-ness about halfway through. Way to follow through!

  16. Cool idea, I love that you can stick them on the end of sticks, and they look like cake pops, but are super easy to make!

  17. Those look delicious but I'd probably eat them all in one night. I am not good at staying away from sweets if they are available. My vice!

  18. cute candy idea! I had to click on the dry brushing article first... I love it and try my best to do it before every shower, although, as you know, with a baby in the house showers have to be short, so it's a pretty quick brush down!

  19. I think it is cool you mentioned having an Alice in Wonderlanf Tea Party, as I am having one in May for my kids' UNbirthday! This is actually a great idea....Queen of Hearts thankfully sticks with the Wonderland theme!

  27. So my fandom of your blog has been growing within these past few months [um...*ahem*...sympathetic fertility problem person] and I have to say this post, in my opinion, is hilarious. And inspiring. So kudos. Also, I wish I could just jump through my computer screen and eat them all. Do they melt in your mouth? Because they look like they do. And while I would make them, I don't have an Edward Cullen tin to stash them in [darn! Seriously!], which is just an excuse to not give in to the craving...

  28. if you were serving those i would be round for tea with bells on.

  30. So I don't know everyone hates on shoe wedges because I freaking love them to pieces. I'm 5'2" and I really treasure those extra three inches without looking like I'm way dressy in heels. I'm just glad I'm not the only one rocking them :)

  35. These are so cute! And thanks for the chocolate-covered gummy bear inspiration - I made some of my very own last week. (a little tip: Germany has the most delicious gummy bears, and no, they're not Haribo!)

  36. These are cute! Look tasty, too. My husbands birthday is coming up. Maybe instead of a cake, I should make him something like this!

  37. I remember when you used to make onesies. And, you took a break and said you would start back. Do you remember those onesies? When you lived in the cutest.house.ever. And, you had tea parties. Oh I miss those days sometimes Nat. Xoxo.
