A LITTLE LUNCH AT JACOB'S PICKLES

we met brandon for lunch at jacob's pickles this afternoon, which was a personal victory for me because let me tell you, i'd only been telling brandon i wanted him to take me to jacob's pickles for about a million years.

neither of us actually ordered anything involving pickles, which is tricky. so now we have a reason to go back.

on another note, tonight in the shower i finally used the deep cleaning mask i picked up at the bliss spa over the summer. it's supposed to sit for 15 minutes while you shave your legs in super slow motion or something? i don't know. i used to take 15-minute showers when i was in high school, but now, any more than three minutes in and i start to get real bored. tonight i discovered a trick to surviving your 15-minute face mask. it is singing "a little fall of rain" from les mis in your most pathetic voice while watching water droplets streak dramatically down the shower curtain. it's almost a zen experience, and a highly satisfying moment in my evening.

get the chicken egg and cheese on a biscuit sandwich though, if you know what's good for you.

  7. h-h-h-how do you keep Huck contained at these awesome restaurants?

visiting Simon at the awful hospital cafeteria ..... we form a nice little people-less circle around our rowdy kidded selves.

maybe we need to raise the eating establishment bar. We'll take them to Applebees next. yum.

anyway -- voted! you're going to win.

    and yeah ... a 15 minute shower ... I can't even begin to fathom such a thing.

  11. If it makes you feel any better, I still can't get my almost three year old to eat veggies on the regular. If it's green she won't touch it. Sometimes carrots are okay. Mostly no. Though she has recently taken to eating raw tomatoes. Weirdo. But most of the time I cheat. I give her those baby food pouches that she can eat herself. It's totally lazy, I know but she loves them and I at least feel like an okay Mom since she's eating at least a serving of veggies. Also, smoothies. If she only knew what I put in there she'd for sure wave those little angry fist at me.

  12. you're kind of the best. the randomness gets me every time. obviously i want to eat there now -- those photos are fantastic. and i have always taken at least 15 minute showers.. i'm in college now, so take that from a girl with no one else depending on her. good thing i thoroughly enjoy them now? alright. ha

  14. natalie. today i DROVE PAST the office for The Secret. I want so badly to describe in detail what this place looked like but I'm afraid I will be somehow cursing myself and/or all of my future secret-ing. However, I'm willing to tell you that my first thought was "what the.." and my second thought was "i mean, honestly, you'd think they would have used the secret to get a better office/location/place for The Secret." and now I'll have to question it all. Some things cannot be unseen.. :) :) :)

  24. Ahhh, my favorite Italian restaurant in that 'hood is right across the street! Celeste!

When I lived there, I would go there almost weekly. Yummy stuff...and you got their facade in the second photo.

Love the way this place looks (and definitely want to check this place out the next time I'm in town).

  26. Um, excuse me-but a burrito bowl addiction is serious business. not weird at all. It is possible though, that I only think that because its been exactly 23 days since my last one, and I've become rather depressed about all this delicious food I've had to actually cook. Lack of Chipotle does sad things to you.

  27. Love the restaurante atmosphere!! Gonna put in my must-visit list when I'm in NYC again...

  29. I like this post and I want to eat there! My Thing to Do in New York today involves getting to reaaaally know the four walls of your apartment because your poor baby is still sick, but when he's better we're going to that amazing show at the Brooklyn Museum that everyone says little kids love! And go out for tacos near home/throw taco parts on the floor, ahem, manners please, little baby.

  34. um, i really wish i knew about this place when i visited last fall...anything with pickles, i'm there! also, can i ask if the singing in the shower was an adjustment for you guys when you got married? because i'm a big shower singer, and i've just gotten to the point where i can belt out heartfelt renditions of my favorite musicals without worrying about how crazy my Mister Man thinks i am. just me? or is that everyone?
