Letters To My Husband

your face of joy as you read this sweet little letter from yours truly

My Dearest Handsome Holbsy,

I sure do miss you while you are away!

Thanks for taking me out on that walk last night, just the two of us. Isn't it nice to walk your wife instead of those silly dogs? Wasn't it fun saying hello to that old horse that lives on D Street? Do you think he fell in love with me, just a little bit? Thanks for forgetting to introduce me to your law school professor, that was awesome!

Hey, wasn't it fun watching Lost last night on the laptop with all those stinky dogs piled all over us? Seriously, why do they smell so bad? When you come home they'll be completely trained to stay off the couch. Just you wait!

I hope you had a safe flight, and don't worry, I got this place covered. And I promise to do the dishes ALL WEEK LONG. I know you're concerned about that. And if somebody makes an offer on the house I promise to negotiate the right way. I won't let you down!

Until Thursday, baby doll.

xoxo
Your Wifey

  1. You are totally pregnant and having a scan done today! Am I right? If so, I hope that you have a whole litter of babies tucked up in there. Best of luck.

  3. What a lovely letter! I think until your husband returns Barney is just going to have to wear nappies (diapers?); good luck to him eating the mess when it's that contained. Only but, you'll have to change them pretty regularly. Well, it's good practice right?
I'm not going to guess what the you-know-what is because I'll be sad if I'm wrong. But, good luck!

  14. Oh Ratalie!!! (BIG sigh)

My own hub heads off to work across the country a week from today, so please watch and write carefully about everything in the house this week. It'll definitely inspire my own good behavior while watching the p's and q's next week.

Good times, best of luck, no jinxes, and so on and so forth...!

  18. I totally don't know you but am going to also call you "Ratalie," as if we were close buds, because it sounds like a cute nickname.
Good luck with the "I-know-not-what" and with Barnaby's jobs. I don't know what it is about dogs and poop, but be thankful you don't have a cat...otherwise, I hear dogs really like to go rooting around in litter for "tootsie rolls." Ew.

  28. Oh Boy! (Or girl? Or both?)

Congrats on your you know what (whatever that is??) and I'm with everyone else, crossing fingers that your news rhymes with 'maybe'.
    :-)
Congrats also, for sufficiently teasing us and causing giddy-like suspense!
A fellow follower of you blog,

  29. Yay!! I love your blog! I hope this is what it sounds like!

Also, I was perusing your old posts that I had missed since Christmas, and I remember one about herbal tea recommendations? I wanted to share some of my favs with you JUST IN CASE you hadn't tried them (which, by now, you probably have)!

Brand: Tazo (found in Target, and Starbucks, not sure where else)

Flavors: oh so many! my personal favorites:

Passion: (doesn't contain any actual tea leaves) flavors: hibiscus flowers, orange peel, rosehips, cinnamon, lemongrass, natural tropical flavors, citric acid, licorice and red poppy. My favorite thing about this is that it is a beautiful hot pink color! Also it's great over ice in the summer!

Berryblossom White: blueberry and white cranberry flavors..tastes almost like a cookie I used to get in college with white chocolate and blueberries & cranberries!

They have lots more flavors, but those are my favorites :)

Good luck (with you know what) and God Bless!!

  30. I am delurking myself again because of the suspense! Can it be that your dreams have come true? Can it be that you are questioning how many weeks along you may be? I hope so!

  31. first you tell us that you ate macaroni and tuna all day and then you took a nap at 11 am. or was it the nap and then the tuna? i can't remember. but i'm thinking there's a bun in that oven!

anyway, i enjoy your staring contest postings so much! serious.

  32. There is some stuff you can get from your vet to sprinkle on Barnaby's food. It is supposed to make his poop "unappealing" to him (that sentence is so wrong in so many ways).

    Good Luck with you-know-what today!

    ReplyDelete
  33. Oh how I hope your dreams come true! I love your blog and would love to hear about the new adventures!

  34. Naaaaaat!!! *HUGS* Whatever. You rock!

  35. Okay, first things first, how did you get a picture of the Holbs' face if he is across the country?

Right, now that that is out of the way, WHAT! This could be the meanest, trickiest, hoaxiest evil ever played on a group of blog readers in the history of the world, you know. What if you read all your comments tonight, and tomorrow you say, "Oh! Sorry, guys. I didn't know you would take my parting sentence THAT WAY. Nope, I was just predicting the offers we were going to get on our house."

Either way, I'm also hoping for two.

    ReplyDelete
  36. TWO! TWO! TWO! Can't wait to hear what you're talking about! (Although...I'm pretty sure, like everyone else, what you might be talking about!)
