WHAT WOULD FELICITY PORTER WEAR?

since re-watching all four seasons of felicity with my husband in practically one sitting this summer, i've had felicity porter late-nineties fashion on the brain. something about those cozy knit sweaters, sensible shoes, faded brown leather, and thick wool socks feels really relevant to me right now, especially with all these cooling temps and crisping leaves and apple ciders going around. i even have an entire eBay collection dedicated to my felicity fashion obsession (you can see it HERE), it's getting pretty serious.

find a fisherman sweater five sizes too big and get really introspective, start saying, "hey" a lot, put mazzy star on the record player (they have a new album out!), not a bad way to do it.

  3. So funny, because I had almost the exact same reaction after re-watching all of the seasons of Felicity on Netflix earlier this year! It was such a great show, no? Completely took me back to my first year of college (which was also Felicity's first year) . . .

  6. All your talk of Felicity and I finally started watching it (I was a Dawson's Creek girl, but never really watched Felicity). I'm just getting into the second season and I just love how they call her 'sweater girl'. I can totally identify with that. Never enough sweaters, right? I too have been feeling nostalgic for some of my nineties wear - old J.Crew (before they got all fashion-y), boyfriend jeans, flannel... Something just feels so good about those things, like you're not trying too hard.

  7. Something she would not be wearing: a bra.

  8. girl

i just put on lisa loeb. i'm channeling so many 90s emotions right now it's perfect. btw, judging by the 90s re-runs i've been watching lately, there's a lot of blank-faced gazing going on in these shows. did we all do that a lot in the 90s??

  9. I've rewatched Felicity twice since it went off the air (can I just comment on how unsatisfying the last season is, ugh) - and I always get inspired by Felicity's wardrobe! Those heavy cable knit sweaters, sigh.

  10. How fun! I've actually never watched Felicity before but lately I've been having the urge to give it a go through Netflix. You may have just given me that extra push. Love the inspiration board :)

  14. "Hey, can I talk to you?" - how every scene in Felicity starts. I'm always like WHY DO THEY SAY THAT and then I realize it sounds so weird to me because most of those convos would have happened via text today. I have a sneaky suspicion that Felicity of season 1 would have sent Ben far too many obsessive text messages...and Noel would have sent a lot of smiley faces. Because he's presh.

  16. Haha! I rewatch Felicity every time I have a baby. Which makes 5 times now (can you say marathon nursing sessions?!) I was also a freshman when Felicity aired. I always laugh at how dramatic that show is but can't help but love it anyway. Guilty pleasure :)
