A CHRISTMAS TREE!

The Holbrooks have a Christmas tree! Three feet of pure beauty! I love her. Isn't she positively scrawny? She's kind of the world's most pathetic tree ever. I like to stroke her boughs lovingly and tell her that even though she's not the prettiest tree in the lot, I will still love her until all 35 of her pine needles drop off.

She is a little Charlie Browny, but I'm pretty proud of her.

  2. Since you are in New York and all, it makes me think of the Felicity episode where Sean tries to sell Christmas trees and they are all packed into the loft (until Megan calls the fire dept.). That tree is so cute. Did you have a rag-tag bunch of kids come and work their magic hands in front of it to spruce it up, just like in the Charlie Brown movie? That would explain a lot!

  3. Ooo, so jealous! I'm working on convincing Spencer of the same thing. All I want is a small tree to bring some Christmas cheer to our apartment!

  4. I love the tree!! We have that exact fight every year, lol. Our practical hubbies just don't get the dire need to have a little bit of tree magic in the house. We cheated this year and got a scrawny FAKE tree, which I said I would NEVER (ever, ever, ever!!) do because our no-longer boob monsters have decided to be horribly allergic to real Christmas trees (or more likely the mold they grow). Sigh. It may not be real, but we still made it look really pretty. Anyway, love the post and your tree! Happy Christmas Season!!

  5. I love that tree! It's adorable. Our tree has fallen over and we now believe that I picked out the worst most crooked tree at the entire tree farm....probably I just felt like this tree needed me.

  9. Oh you picked a good one. The man and the tree. Clearly, you are a good picker.

  10. Your tree is adorable. Plus-- here is a good thing about having a smaller one. Mine is over 10 feet tall and I've been wanting to string a popcorn garland but I just don't think I could do it to cover a tree that big. But yours looks absolutely perfect.

  11. When I was little, we would go to the woods and cut down our tree. One year I fell in love with a "Charlie Brown" tree and I ended up bawling and kissed it! The darn tree gave me a bloody lip...but it got to sit in my bedroom for that Christmas season! :)

  13. I got a fake tree this year, because I wanted a white tree for some reason. And I used to have real trees growing up and it made my sinuses HATE ME. My theme for my white tree this year is Dr. Suess! I can't wait for the kids to help me decorate it.

I never knew Natalie meant the birthday of Christ! That's pretty neat and so fitting for you!

  14. Here in Western Australia, NOBODY buys real trees, and everyone thinks faux trees are so magical! I grew up cutting down a pine tree from the back yard every year and bringing it inside, so this attitude towards faux trees is very difficult for me to cope with. Possibly the hardest part of my marriage is that my husband grew up in a family that worships their large fake tree. It took a lot of pouting but this year he agreed to buy me a real tree!

  15. What does it mean when the pictures aren't pictures but notices from PhotoBucket that somebody's bandwidth is exceeded and that that somebody needs to upgrade to Pro today?
