MEG, BILLY, TOM, AND KEVIN (AND GREG)

on saturday a couple of my girlfriends came over for some major girl time while brandon took himself down to macy's to find some new work shirts. macy's on a saturday! he was there for almost five hours. just thinking about it gives me the shivers. i have feelings about the macy's on 34th and they aren't terribly charitable, steve.

we decided to watch all the meg ryan movies i own because why would that even need an explanation, come on. we ate breakfast food all day long, too. kaitlyn brought daisies. at one point during when harry met sally i brought out an entire two-pound bar of frozen belgian chocolate and we all cracked off huge pieces and spent a good thirty minutes slowly working our way through them. this entire paragraph is a ridiculous cliché. it was a really good time.

i recommend hitting the megs in chronological order, and we found that a savory crepe break in the middle of sleepless in seattle is a really good way to go.

p.s.
kaitlyn had to leave during the last 10 minutes of joe vs. the volcano
so, kaitlyn! spoiler alert!
the volcano spits them out!

  1. Sounds like fun!

I magically found a way to work in an You've Got Mail quote into my grad school app. I figure they're either going to think it's so cool and admit on the spot or not read the rest of my app and reject me.

  4. I think this is the most fantastic idea I've ever heard! Especially when adding in crepes. I do hope there was nutella involved.

  5. Ah, man! I wish I had a bunch of girlfriend who loved Meg Ryan movies. Le sigh. BTW, Huck looks a little dubious of all that estrogen flying. Hee hee.

  12. I had a Cary-Grant-A-Thon this weekend, which included An Affair to Remember. It's insane that I hadn't seen it before and also how long it has been since I've watched Sleepless in Seattle. Sounds like a great time :)

  17. I watched Kate & Leopold on Sunday morning and I must say while I don't feel it's one of her best, Meg has such timeless beauty. I love her.

  25. I must say, as a man, my favorite Meg Ryan movie is "In the Cut". She is one hot cookie in that movie, and I would love to have had her as my english teacher. "How did you learn to do that?"

  29. this past weekend my bestie (is it still ok to say that when you're 28? probably not) had a very similar afternoon. We loaded up as many Tom Hanks/Meg Ryan dvds as we could, ate delicious scones, made a girly Pinterest-inspired spritzer, and made those braided yarn bracelets that we used to make when we were 12. It really is lovely to have some girlfriends that you can just be THAT girly with.
