DERP DERP

it's been a quiet few weeks. the city's been rainy and quiet and my thoughts have been rainy and quiet. the camera battery is still waiting on the kitchen counter for its turn to be charged. at night when i search my brain for interesting things to report i mostly come up with probably nothing.

like swimsuits! i've been trying to find a swimsuit. every few days a new one shows up on the doorstep, and every few days a new one goes back on the ups truck. nothing looks right. swimsuit shopping is the worrrrrrrrrrrst. i just don't want any ruffles on my swimsuit is that too much to ask?

huck woke up this morning positively in love with his mother. hugs on the knees and kisses through the stroller rain cover and cheesy love-struck smiles over breakfast. i say "this morning" but actually he woke up at noon . . . so the adoration was mutual. thank you, growth spurt! that boy is every good thing, dang it.

i'm all caught up on pretty little liars now so maybe i'll take up crochet. maybe i could crochet myself a swimsuit.

nat the rat, over and out.

  2. Well, you had a totally cute vintage swimsuit in one of your older posts that I still remember because I thought "I could never pull that suit off". I think it was red?

  4. I serious HATE shopping for swimsuits. It reminds me just how much more I could work out. Hanna Marie

I've been wearing a swimsuit that's about 3 years old. My suit from last year or the year before unfortunately got chewed up by my cat. And the one I bought for this year is a strapless that I LOVE, but bought it while I was pregnant and totally underestimated how big my boobs would get from breastfeeding. Haven't even been able to wear it once. :(

  6. Haha, but see that? Even your nothing-to-post-about-post was a thoroughly enjoyable one to read. Oh, you. How I enjoy this blog of yours.

  7. Doc Martin on Netflix should be next fo sho. Do not watch the prequel. It's unrelated...and dumb. But! ALL FIVE seasons of the regular show is so so fun.

  8. We've been visiting my sister for the last month and she's up and got me addicted to Sons of Anarchy. Seriously, I think you'd love it. Its a great gripping story and the 'bad boy-ness' is completely addicting!

  9. so I'm lying here catching up on one of my favorite bloggers, you, so excited to see that a new post is up. I'm nursing my baby boy to bed and get to the last line about you crocheting a bikini? hah! thanks for the laughs as always. it may be silly but it makes my night going to bed in such a happy spirit for nothing too crazy but a blogger with the best humor I know. :)

  10. Well, Nat the Rat, thank you for totally making my otherwise murky/cold/gloomy workday with this gorgeous post and its deliciously readable ramblings.

(Cold = I'm in Melbourne, Australia.)

(And yuh huh, it DOES get cold here! A weird, snowless, frigid and insidious type of cold. I'm originally from fmr Yugoslavia where we had snowy winters and I prefer those -10 and 15deg celsius winters to this weird ass cold Down Under.)

May you find just the type of swimsuit you're after! Swimsuit shopping can totally be the worst, I agree wholeheartedly.

    Happy summerage!

  11. You probably don't need this tip miss Natalie but I find Pinterest has THE BEST swimsuit options. Why not order like ten you like and then have a poll about which is the best? Or just have a swimsuit trying on party for yourself, any excuse to have a mini party, right?

Walking helps me write, too, but the last few days has only worsened my mood instead of making it better. Don't know why, but it's frustrating the heck out of me.

  13. Your crochet bikini musing made me shudder. When I was a kid I wanted a bikini Barbie my friend had but my mom said we didn't have extra cash and she'd make a bikini for an existing Barbie. She knit one, and can I say there was nothing so pitiful at play dates as my Amish Bikini Barbie.

  15. Even when you've got nothing to say, you're still my favorite. If you saw my blogroll, you'd know that's sayin something. Besides, think of Seinfeld. A whole show about nothing. Such good company you keep. Oh, and don't forget what Kathleen Kelly said, "all this nothing has meant more to me than so many somethings." Truth. So please keep the nothing coming.
