TRAVELS WITH ALEX DAY THREE: AND MORE!

i think i must have forgotten a lot how much i need my sisters around. or my parents, or my baby brother, even. i just need somebody with that funny weird mix of lovin in them to remind me how all the parts inside of me are supposed to work, and why i am how i am, and why exactly that can be so great in its own silly way, if that makes sense. having alex here has reminded me to take a lot of stuff less seriously, and to take a lot of other stuff more seriously.

we've run plum outta new things to do together but alex rescheduled her flight home so we have one more week!

here's what you've missed
(let's be honest you haven't missed any of it you're barely suffering through it but let's pretend just for fun).

(thank you belle for this shot!)

  17. Nat, I've really been loving these posts with your sis!
Living away from home you do often forget just how much you need/miss your family. Seeing these posts make me miss mine! Isn't is just lovely to be able to share that silly "only they get you" you around after so long or sort of forgetting yourself?

  19. This is such a cute post : ) I love that you're both looking after each other and having so much fun in the process! It's good to know what matters in life! Juices here in NYC are amazing but oh so expensive, but man this stuff does not exist in Paris : ( I went in to Whole Foods at Union Square earlier and was like a child in a sweet shop! Keep enjoying New York ladies : )xx

  23. I am in the exact same situation as Alex right now, well she is one step ahead of me. I have a boyfriend that I've been dating since he got back from his mission 5 years ago, we're planning to get married next summer but I don't feel that it's right. Good heavens she's brave, I wish I could pick her brain right now!

    1. Sara, trust yourself. You said you don't feel it's right. There's your answer. Marriage is far too serious not to be honest with yourself about feelings. If it's right, he will wait. Otherwise, be strong and put the plans on pause. Or halt.

      With love, I say this.

  25. Such fun with sisters. Is she considering moving there? That would be great. My sister lives in CA and I'm in FL and what I wouldn't give to live in the same town...

So sorry about Alex's breakup but it seems she's made the right choice for herself.

  31. I adore this series! Hooray for Alex visiting because now I'm Googling NYC real estate and generally writing off any chance at actually affording a place there, ever. Holy sh**.

I'll just live vicariously through you, so keep it up. ;)

P.S. My son got my nose, too. I love it.

  32. I Know how how it is! I just had my sister and her littles visit last week - it was so hard saying goodbye on Sunday. I wish I could've convinced her husband to let me keep them another week. Looks like you're making thermostat of your time with your sister - great photos!

  35. These posts make me long for my sister. I don't have a sister by blood but my bff of 21 years has pretty much played that role. I love your sister posts and the cute photos you two take together. I think it's wonderful you two have one another right now to help each other through the rough stuff you both may be going through! You both are very beautiful ladies!!
