ONE PANT // THREE WAYS

i'm working with LOFT this summer to help spread the word about the launch of their new line of pants. as a diehard jeans-and-a-tee girl, I was kind of excited for the challenge of styling what is sometimes considered "office wear" into my every day life.

here is how i would style the new Marisa pant while running errands and hitting a playground uptown...

on me: top c/o LOFT // pants in regular c/o LOFT (extra length rolled up)  // new balance sneakers (similar HERE)
and on huck: tee c/o mamacase // zara jeans // saltwater sandals // wet hair c/o the water fountains

. . . on an afternoon play date with friends downtown . . .

hat madewell (similar HERE) // tee forever 21 // pants in petite c/o LOFT (cuffed) // shoes rachel comey (somewhat similar HERE) // cuff c/o jewelmint

. . . and on a date with my husband to see a yankees game . . .

baseball tee forever 21 (similar HERE) // clutch c/o noonday collection // cuff c/o noonday collection // hat from a street vendor // pants in regular  c/o LOFT (extra length rolled up) // heels zara

  4. It was so refreshing to just see you in tennis shoes and a hoodie. It just makes you so relatable. Not that you AREN'T relatable in 3 inch wedge heels and anthro skirts, etc....but I hope you know what I mean. You look like fresh-faced Idaho Natalie in these photos. :) Heehee! I also loved the baseball T and heels!

  5. I love these posts! I'm usually not a fan of fashion blogs, but your fashion posts I LOVE! Your style is so effortless, and your writing incredible. Big fan, over here. Also, PS- your hair is FAB! It's given me a whole new love for my shoulder-length strands ;)

  6. I second that, dress slacks are the worst!

  7. DUH! I never think about cuffing pants, and am sitting here in my maternity skinnies with booties on frustrated because they look silly the way i'm wearing them and can't get them to look right (don't tuck in well because they're too long and I have to fold them and ... and ... and)

so straight leg pants, cuffed. you are my fashion Sherpa lady. my FASHION SHERPA.

  8. totally digging this. first: loft was long overdue in revamping the pants (hello saggy butt!), second: please more photos of you in a ponytail, makes us normals feel okay about running to work with our hair pulled back because there is no time for fashion in the early hours!:)

  9. I've never commented on your blog before, but when I saw this post I had to say something! I am a LOFT sales associate at a store in the Chicago 'burbs and a huge fan of your blog. Thanks for spreading the word about our new pants! It's SO like you to inspire me to wear my clothes in new ways and dress down my pants and make them everyday. You're an icon, seriously.

    Lots of love,
    Anna

P.S. Check out our denim, too. It rocks!

  11. I have to say, I'm not loving those pants. They would make anyone look squat and short with those rolled up cuffs. Don't we all want to look like we're long, lean, supermodels!? ;)

  17. Ugh women's workwear is the worst. When I stopped teaching I was so glad to put my saggy-but-slightly-too-short dress pants to rest. But I love your pants rolled up with your NB kicks! And I think I'm going to have to scour a F21 for a baseball tee, since I am always envious of yours...

  25. I thought my grandmother was the only person that used the word "slacks".

  27. I have a question about the pants, in the past I had owned a ton of LOFT pants for work but in the past few years they were kind of yuck and became hot wrinkly messes even after a good starching! I'm assuming you are not washing and ironing these after each wear so how do the hold up to a whole day of wear? You have me very intrigued to venture out and try some of these on this weekend!

    1. they've been holding up really well for me! no crumpling or bagging. but I haven't washed them yet and I'll most likely send them to the dry cleaner when I do, along with B's work clothes. sorry I can't be more help!
