Let Me Count The Ways

All told, it was a pretty successful day, for a Thursday.

Today I finally cleaned the pancake batter off of Barnaby's nose. It had been there for almost two days. Isn't that ridiculous? The Holbs will be so thrilled.

I woke up on time for work today!

I worked a seven hour shift and then came home and ate the entire contents of my house and I didn't even feel guilty. No regret. I mean, I don't regret it as much as I expected I would. (Heaven help me, I am still hungry.)

My nose has gotten a lot of compliments today. Honestly, these noses. You give them a compliment and suddenly they are God's gift to my face or something.

At work today I beat the sales forecast by double. Pretty proud of myself!

I did some Googleage and found out why my hands sometimes smell funny after I put on my earrings. Seriously, that has bugged me for months. (Warning, that link will alter your perspective on reality a little bit.)

I had to leave Barnaby in the house unsupervised for seven hours today and he didn't even destroy or poop on anything.

I sat through ten whole minutes of Glenn Beck tonight without thinking any mean thoughts about what a stinker he is.

I do not mean to brag, but I am on fire today!

So Thursday ... haha Thursday I slept in instead of going to classes and upon checking the mail I found out I made the Dean's List! Oh the guilt!

  2. I dressed my niece in the cutest outfit ever, and even gave her some fashion advice in the dressing room of the store a la What Not To Wear.

  3. Wow, that's ... hmm. I'm just wondering who funded the research!
Well done you for such a successful Thursday!
I completed a University preparation course, received and wrote some nice emails, and ate an entire bag of spicy bhuja mix for dinner. Ok, so maybe the last one isn't such a positive...

  5. I confronted my estate agents about the appauling state of my flat, and got fobbed off again. Oh well. But I did meet an old friend and have a good catch up, which was nice. Sadly not a successful Thursday as yours, but still pretty good!

  6. Fascinating article on metal interacting with the skin. Thanks for the heads-up! Thursday. Well, I had a break-through with an ancestor formerly known as Skinner, but now known as Margaret! My girl SUPER POWERS were in full effect, and I ended the day with an awesome, edgy blog entry, if I do say so myself. Oh! To sleep in 'til NINE!!! I think seven-thirty or MAYBE eight is the longest I have managed in years. Lucky!

  7. OH girl, wish I could trade places with you. I made eighty, yes, 80 brownies with cherries and toffee and chocolate and made bath salts and made sugar scrubs to give away for FREE, while basking in the fruits of my labors: swollen feet, an aching back, and at least a 1000 extra calories.

  8. Grossed out, but glad to finally know what that smell is. Ewww!

I've been considering some "grown up" facial care too lately. I'll be 26 next month *agh* and I think it's about time to treat my skin like it's an adult. *sigh*

  9. I got to wipe the snot filled noses of my 2 babies (how do things so small create so much ooze???). I got to change plenty of gross smelling diapers (I don't even want to know what it says on that link of yours!). I got to clean the walls where my dog insists on rubbing his body, leaving some weird yellow/brown smudges. And then I baked a delish chocolate cake. Chocolate fixes everything doesn't it? ;}

  10. I refuse to believe I'm smelling body odor; I refuse to stink, dammit! Also, if I ever taste metal in my water, I'm actually drinking odor? I'll have none of it! (Not that a metallic taste in the water is a common problem for me, but still...I refuse to believe it on principle, you know?)

Also, I'm thrilled about Barnaby's successful day without supervision; makes me feel like I made the right choice in loving him most (without actually knowing either of your doggies). Just sayin'...

Also, I kinda like Thursdays. Maybe it has something to do with having Fridays off...? Happy weekend!

  11. I think Thursdays are my favorite day of the week. I will tell you why. It is the one night of the week we are not running off to ballet lessons, Tae Kwon Do lessons, church obligations, and such. It is the one night of the week that I allow myself to eat whatever I darn well please. And my stories are on TV Thursdays nights! Basically there is a lot of nothing happening Thursday nights, and I kind of like that.

  12. My Thursday was wonderful! I got home by 5, Husband went to Potlatch to help Grandpa, so I got to stay home and catch up on THREE whole episodes of Big Love. I also made it to the gym for an hour! So relaxing, but I stayed up too late watching BL, so now I'm sleepy today. But that's ok - it's Friday now!

  14. Speaking of adult facial care, I seriously just bought my first jar of night moisturizer. Up until, like, a week ago, I was convinced that only old women used night moisturizer. And I cannot stand to think I might be nearing that category!!! But my regular moisturizer just wasn't doing its job during the wee hours anymore, so I sucked up my pride and bought some fancy schmancy Neutrogena stuff (I say "fancy" because I usually can't convince myself to buy anything more spendy than, say, "Clean and Clear"). And you know what? Every morning I roll out of bed and look in the mirror, and my skin looks FABULOUS. So I guess the loss of my pride was worth it!

  15. I worked and studied, the usual. A fun factoid for you that goes along with your photograph...that turf is a cesspool on giving folks staph. Due to the fact that all the student athletes and clubs spit, puke, bleed etc. and it can't be cleaned..yeah. I used to do some quality time in the kibbie athletic training room and saw nasty nasty stuff.

  16. I love Glenn Beck, but he can be so mean sometimes. I had to work a whole 4 hour shift today, and I'm ready for a nap!

  18. Hi Nat. I named the pimple on my chin Kato Kaelin, because it's like a house-guest who should be paying me RENT for the SPACE ITS OCCUPYING ON MY FACE.

  19. I have to say, was Barnaby in the house COMPLETELY alone with no Peter Pan influence? If he was, I'm leaning towards John's previous comments that The Pan may not be as innocent as you think. Maybe an experiement would be called for. Leave each dog home alone separately for an extended period of time and see which one makes the mess.

  20. Hmm, that looks weird, too. Doncha hate it when words do that wonky spelling thing where NO SPELLING looks correct, and the correct one looks exceptionally strange?

  21. I've ALWAYS wondered that about metal. . .not sure whether to say "ewwww" or "thanks." How about "Thank Ewww" hahahahahaha! Oh my brother-in-law a.k.a. King of the Corny Humor would have loved that one:)

  22. I hope The Holbs now not only thinks that HM's plastic surgery is not an upgrade but that it has also turned her into a scary alien looking person and cringing should occur whenever she is seen!

  23. Ah, but Missy, John, (and Gillian), you must include in this investigative report all pieces of evidence. Big dog. Little dog. Don't mean to be gross, "butt" there was more than your ordinary type of "mess" involved here... ;D
