A Huckoween Special

Every year a street in our neighborhood throws a giant Halloween party. The whole place gets decked out, an apartment of dancers puts on a trapeze show from the fifth floor of their brownstone, and families come from all over the city to trick or treat.  Brandon and Huck and I decided to take a little walk to see what all was up. Here is what we saw.

{Peter Pan's girlfriend Moby.}

And then I came home and ate my fill of fun-size mini Huckleberry toes.

Happy Halloween to you!

  4. Ooooooo. That is right up there with the coolest thing ever. How much fun to have this at your doorstep. In Australia you still have to pry the Halloween festivities out of people.

    Cute shot, Mum and Baby look well.

  7. First of all, that party looks awesome. Now I want to find a way to have a trapeze/dance show all my very own. Second, your little Huck is PRECIOUSNESS personified. And lastly, you look freaking incredible. How are you so tiny and put together and calm looking right after having that baby??? You're awesome.

  13. Wow - I had no idea Halloween could be such fun (being trapped down under and all)! Wish we had trapeze artists living in my street...Huck looks very cute in his costume.

  16. I'm so glad you're out and about! Firstly because Halloween ROCKS and no one should miss it, even if they're, like, at death's door. Come to think of it, death's door is a perfect place to be on Halloween. You could even work a costume around that idea!

    Secondly, being cooped up in a house with a newborn is a good way to go insane. Donning a cute outfit, combing your hair, and waving a mascara wand around, then taking that freaking cute little baby out for some fresh NYC air is a GREAT way to stay sane.

    Thirdly, you look nicer than I do, and my kids are two years and three-point-five months old! Not newly born! Maybe it's because I have two kids, and not just one. Or because my Halloween was spent indoors in Utah. Or because I've never known how to be fashionable. Sigh.

    To Henry: you're the Cutest Newborn Ever (your friend Tamsin is currently rocking Cutest Three Month Old Ever)! Press those cute little cheeks to your mommy's laptop monitor, because I'm sending you a kiss for each side! XX

  17. P.S. How's nursing going? I've just barely started to recover from my sweet second-born's month-long case of thrush, which is pain too exquisite to even type about (this brings me to THREE cases of months-long thrush between two children!!!). Read up on it, my dear friend, and run--RUN--to your doctor if you see any signs of it. Thrush SUUUCCKKKS!
