HAPPY BIRTHDAY BRANDON!

it's brandon's birthday! hooray!
for brandon's birthday he requested dinner at p.j. clarke's.
the three of us had a lovely time.

huck tasted his first sparkling water and wasn't very impressed.

afterward we got dessert to-go at epicerie boulud and ate it by the lincoln center fountain, the holbserino's most favorite spot in the city.

happy birthday, baby!

  1. girlfriend! did ya'll not go to PJ Clarke's when you worked at Merrill? That location was very Mad Men - filled with bankers and ties and slicked back hair (ya know, now that Merrill has ceased to be, I'm not so sure anymore). The one on the East side at 54th St. is also pretty good too. Sounds like a wonderful b-day for the holbster - and you're next! Yay!

  4. no - there is one in the bottom of the world financial center! i kid you not - that's another location in addition to 54th and the one near lincoln center. tt's still there, too (and my personal favorite, for the memories, you know). you guys can go check it out for old time's sake - it has a great view of the harbor. i bet huck would love looking at all the boats, too.

  6. I love LOVE man cardigans, and yes, they most likely are sperm boosting. I will definitely quote you on that!

And P.S. the very top, right handed picture of Huck in his vest is my favorite. It made me smile - what a muffin!

  7. I love this! Lovity, love, love. I used to live in the UWS, so my heart swells with the familiarity of every one of your posts. Fun fact? I believe you're sitting in the *very booth* my husband took my father to on Christmas Eve in 2007, in order to ask for my hand in marriage. That booth is full of special memories for us, and I am so happy to now share the special memories booth with your family :) Happy birthday Mr. H!

  10. Hucks future wife better watch out! If he's wearing man cardigans since babyhood they're going to have babies coming out the ying yang. Well not the ying yang, but I'm sure you get the point. Better tone it down studly!

  11. Aw, wonderful! Happy birthday to your Holbs! And you all look fab, natch.

(And I love me some steak -- eye fillet, to be precise -- so I totally would've ordered the same.)

  12. Huck is awesome with that furry hood on the vest. Adorable. Also, my husband has recently decided (totally on his own) that he wants a man cardigan. It's strange but awesome, that he's suddenly caring about what he wears, and doing things like going to H&M on his lunch break, with me nowhere in sight! We're getting closer to trying to make a baby, so I'll make sure he gets a cardigan to help w/ the sperm count thing ;)

  14. happy birthday, holbsdaddy.

nat, in response to your question -- "do you think it is possible to send your husband major brain waves into his soul that have him ultimately fulfill your bidding while still thinking it was his idea all along?" -- my answer is YES YES YES. All the time. I rarely works, though.

  15. Have you ever seen My Big Fat Greek Wedding? The momma says, "The man is the head, yes, but the woman is the neck. The neck turns the head any way she want." :-)

Brandon, (see, just for your birthday I will call you Brandon), are you receiving the major brain waves I am sending deep into your soul? They are shouting, HAVE A WONDERFUL BIRTHDAY! :-)
